Vanshika selected for SFI coaching camp

JAMMU, Aug 30: Vanshika Gusain, a Class 6th student of KC Public School has been selected for the coaching camp, organised by the Swimming Federation of India.
She was selected on the basis of her exceptional performance at Khelo India’s Junior Women’s Swimming Series, organised at Talkatora Swimming Complex New Delhi recently, in which she represented J&K UT in the Swimming event.
Her selection was finalized through an interview which she attended in New Delhi a few days ago along with her parents. It is for the first time in the sports history that a swimmer from Jammu & Kashmir has been selected for further training.
The credit for her outstanding achievement can also be attributed to her legendary coach Babita Rani Jamwal.
Vanshika and her team mates who represented J&K in the Zonal Swimming Series in Delhi involving UP, Punjab, Haryana, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Uttarakhand on August 20 and 21 were felicitated in a special morning assembly held in the School today.
Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra congratulated Vanshika on her great achievement and wished her a promising career in swimming at the national and international levels.
