Vanishing rural sports

Sir,
This has reference to the Sunday Magazine article ‘No craze for rural sports’ DE Nov 30.
It is quite disappointing that we are losing our rural sports rapidly. The loss of this heritage can not be redeemed. The fun and frolic associated with these game can  not be compensated by video or mobile game. These games would not only entertain but also ensured a good healths. The people participating in these games were physically robust and healthy.
Besides, these games would not involve any kind of expenditure. You have to pay for mobile and video games. The rural sports would, like other games, foster companionship among players. But one wonders whether the children confined to four walls of their house, having laptops in their hands, can develop such an attitude towards their classmates or children in the neighbourhood.
Perhaps not. It is quite disappointing that we remain quite insensitive towards preserving our past, rather remain quite enthusiastic about modernity whether that may suit us or not.
Yours etc…..
