KATHUA, Oct 23: Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti (BSS) organised its 17th State level science exhibition, 2018 ( Gyan-Vigyan Mela) at Sant Bal Yogeshwar Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Dadwara Phinter, Billawar.
It started on October 22 and will culminate on October 24. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Nirmal Singh Speaker, State Legislative Assembly.
Nitu Chowdhary Principal SBY BVM Dadwara presented the welcome address.
The senior team of scientists, Dr. Rajnish Anand, Dr. D.M. Mondhe Principal Scientist, Dr. Dheeraj Vyas and Dr Prasoon Gupta senior scientists & Dr. Rajindera Bhanwaria, Scientist of CSIR-IIIM under the patronage of Dr. Ram Vishawkarma, Director CSIR IIIM Jammu were the judges of the programme.
Total 250 students (Bal Vagyanicks) of 11 Vidya Mandirs participated in this exhibition under the guidance of 20 science teachers. Pradeep Singh, Prant Sanyojak, Vigyan presented the theme of Vigyan Mela.
Pradip Kumar, Sangthan Mantri Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti was the main speaker. He said that Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti is running 36 schools in Ladakh and Jammu province of on the basis of developing rich cultural ethos along with inculcating fundamental moral values in addition to normal JKBOSE and NCERT subjects. He said that Samiti is teaching physical education, Yog, Sangeet, Sanskrit and Vedic mathematics as special subjects. He said that we are exposing and encouraging scientific talent, making children realize the relevance of science responsibilities as budding scientists, developing creative thinking encouraging the problem solving approach, integrating scientific ideas, inculcating the aesthetic sense and team spirit, developing awareness our glorious cultural heritage. Popularising Science among the masses and creating an awareness of the role of Science in the Socio -economic growth of the country.
The chief guest Dr Nirmal Singh complimented the Vidya Bharti, Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti by organizing such events in the State and specially lauded the efforts of students who had come from Palmar Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda, Udhampur, Reasi, Basohli on observing their scientific talent by preparing science models based on different topics given by NCERT and Vidya Bharti, specially on the eco friendly nature.
Around 80 models where displayed in the exhibition. Science quiz, Computer Quiz, paper reading contests, mathematics & Computer models were also displayed.
President School management committed Charan Dass Gupta presented the vote of thanks.
