UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: The UT-Level Inter-District Yoga Championship for Under-17 and Under-19 Boys commenced here today with participation of district teams from across Jammu and Kashmir.
The championship is witnessing participation of 148 athletes, including 88 Under-17 and 60 Under-19 boys, besides 23 team in-charges.
Prem Singh Chib, ADC Udhampur, was the chief guest. He was welcomed by DYSSO Tarsem Singh along with departmental sports staff and participating teams.
In the results, Medhansh Kumar and Abhay Padha of Samba won the Under-17 Rhythmic Pair Yoga, while Sajid Shewkat Rather and Moiz Ahmed Akhoon of Baramulla topped the Under-19 category. Vinkal Kumar of Kishtwar and Sandeep Kumar of Jammu won the Under-17 and Under-19 Traditional Yoga events respectively.
Vijay Kumar, ZPEO Udhampur/Panchari, Pushpinder Kour, ZPEO Tikri/Babey, and Jyoti Devi, ZPEO Jib/Chenani, besides officials and team in-charges, attended the event.
