JAMMU, Mar 6: A meeting of Provincial committee members of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) was held here today under the chairmanship of Hari Singh, provincial president and discussed long pending demands of teaching committee.
The provincial committee strongly criticized the State Government for not taking any cognizance of agitating KGVB teachers who are on indefinite chain hunger strike for the last nineteen days. USTA strongly appealed to the Governor, N N Vohra to give required directions to concerned authorities for their early regularization.
The meeting in one voice appealed the concerned authorities to repatriate masters/lecturers who have completed their tenure outside of their districts, adjust masters whose DPC was made in February 2014, release pending salary and 6th Pay Commission arrears, grants for teachers working under SSA/RMSA etc., clear MDM pending charges and release selection grade in favour of undergraduate teachers.
The meeting was attended by Rajeeve Kumar, Shashi Paul Singh, Pardeep Singh, Rajiv Kumar, Surinder Singh, Zulfkar Ali Malik, Shanti Saroop Sharma and others.
