UP Senior, UP Junior Clubs crush rivals, enter next round in football tourney

KATHUA, May 8: United Punjab (UP) Senior and United Punjab (UP) Junior Football Clubs crushed rivals in their respective matches and entered into the next stage of the ongoing football tournament, being organized by Hiranagar Football Club.
In the first match, United Punjab Senior Football club registered win over Kailly Football Club Samba by straight 2-0 goals. Sourab Pathania Binit Agarwal were the goal scorers.
In the second match, United Punjab Junior Football Club smashed Hiranagar Junior Football Club by 2-1 goals. For United Punjab Junior, the goal scorers were Surya and Ankit, whereas for Hiranagar Club side, Raghunandan netted the goal.
The chief guests Kulbir Singh and Advocate Ranjeet Singh, senior BJP leader inaugurated the first and second matches respectively in presence of President of Shakti Punj Kuljeet Singh, general secretary Lukhinder Singh, joint secretary Vishal Vohra, President Hiranagar Football Club Hemant Jasrotia, Secretary Sourab Gupta, Organiser Surinder Pathania, KP Singh, etc.
Twelve teams are participating in the tournament, which will be played for five days.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sanjay Sharma, Rohini, Dil Bahadur, Sachin and Gagandeep.
