Unscheduled power cuts trigger protest

DODA, Mar 26: Residents of Gandoh, Bhallessa Thathri, Kahara, Changa, Bunjwah and Chilly Pingal here continue to suffer due to poor power supply and frequent power cuts which have become a routine affair there.
The resident of these areas claimed even 12-hour long power curtailment and they staged a protest demonstration against PDD authorities at Batyas in Tehsil Chilly Pingal area of Doda.
The protesters claimed that many areas of Thathri, Gandoh, Bunjwah, Kahara etc also face the same problem of unscheduled power cuts.
A local social activist Mushtaq Ahmed Malik said that long power cuts in severe winters is a big injustice with the people of Doda.
The protesters said that PDD has failed to supply uninterrupted power to the inhabitants.
“We do not receive proper power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily affair now,” the locals claimed appealing to the LG Manoj Sinha and his administration to constitute a Committee to take cognizance of the issue.
