SRINAGAR, Nov 26: The additional general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal today called on the Union Government to fulfill its promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“It is imperative that the commitments made to the region are honoured in order to build trust and foster peace and development. The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve nothing less than the full realisation of the pledges made to them,” Dr Kamal said while interacting with the party functionaries here at the party headquarters.
Kamal stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have overwhelmingly voted in the Assembly elections to reclaim their rights and statehood. He emphasized that the residents of Jammu and Kashmir have fulfilled their civic duty by actively engaging in the democratic process and now it is imperative for New Delhi to fulfill its promises of restoring the Constitutional Rights and granting empowered statehood to the people.
“It is time for New Delhi to deliver on its commitments and uphold the democratic principles that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have so fervently supported,” Dr Kamal added.
