UDHAMPUR, Feb 3: Continuing its efforts to reach out to general public and engage local youth in sporting activities and support Khelo India initiative, Udhampur Police dedicated two day-night Volleyball Courts to the youth of Rehmbal, Malhar, Phalata, Mand and Tikri areas.
SSP Udhampur, Rayees Mohammad Bhat inaugurated the Volleyball Courts at Garnai and Mand area in the presence of Faisal Qureshi, Additional SP, Kameshwar Puri, DySP Hqrs, Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO PS Rehmbal, local youth and prominent citizens of Rehmbal, Garnai and Tikri area.
SSP highlighted the importance of sports in the overall development of youth and especially the engagement of youth during evening hours which is when susceptible youth may fall prey to drugs and other anti-social evils.
The Volleyball courts, well illuminated and equipped with required game material were undertaken by police in collaboration with the civil society. General public of the area highly appreciated this initiative of Udhampur Police.
