U-17 Chess meet begins in Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 19: The Inter-Zonal District level competition in Chess for Under-17 boys commenced at the Scout and Guide Hall, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, providing young players an opportunity to showcase their talent and compete for top honours.
Around 77 students from various zones of District Jammu are participating in the competition. The event is being conducted by experts and officials of the Department, including Convener Harshimran Singh, along with Sunil Abrol, Amit Kaksi, Nitin Sethi, Priya Devi and others.
On the opening day, Samyak Jain of Zone Marh defeated Ravjot Singh of Satwari Zone, while Ravjot Singh of Zone Jammu defeated Shivanj of Miran Sahib Zone. Anurag Singh of Satwari Zone defeated Aditya of Zone Jammu. Sehajdeep Singh of Miran Sahib Zone beat Vihaan of Bhalwal Zone, while Ritvik Gandotra of Gandhi Nagar defeated Saravdeep of Jourian.
