Two injured in Pak shelling in Uri in north Kashmir

BARAMULLA: Two persons were injured when Pakistani troops violated ceasefire and resorted to indiscriminate and unprovoked shelling and firing in Uri sector in this north Kashmir district, official sources said on Friday.
They said Pakistan troops resorted to shelling and firing, targeting forward Army posts and civilian villages at the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector. Two civilians were injured when some shells fell in the civilian areas at village Silikote, Uri.
The injured were admitted to hospital, they said, adding that Indian troops also retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for several hours. Damages suffered by Pakistan troops was not immediately known, they said.
Recently, Pakistan troops resorted to firing and shelling in Hajipeer sector, targeting about half a dozen villages. However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
