KATRA, Aug 14: Police arrested two persons and recovered 35 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession while two persons were also arrested with 55 g of Ganja.
According to a police spokesperson, a police party led by Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, SHO Katra, under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi, laid a special naka at Railway Chowk Katra and during checking apprehended one person namely Anil Kumar son of Vijay Kumar of Panthal, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, and recovered 20 poly pouches of J&K Excise liquor from his possession.
The team also recovered 15 poly pouches measuring J&K Excise liquor from the possession of one Daleep Kumar son of Chuni Lal, a resident of Panthal, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi. Both the persons have been arrested and poly pouches have been seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No 132/2015 U/S 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC stands registered at police station Katra and investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, a police team from police post Banganga arrested two persons namely Bodh Raj son of Indru, resident of Serward, Tehsil Katra and Adil Hussain, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Dharamshala, Kishtwar and recovered 30 g and 25 g of Ganja, respectively from their possession.
The arrest was made by Incharge, police post Banganga, Gurvinder Singh under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sameer Kotwal, Additional SP, Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi. In this connection, a case FIR No 131/2015 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at police station Katra and investigation is in progress.
