Two die of Corona in Kashmir, Ladakh; 91 fresh cases in J&K

JAMMU, Dec 28: One person died of Corona and 59 tested positive in Kashmir division today while 32 cases were reported from Jammu region. One fatality and 14 cases were registered in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A 65-year-old ex-serviceman hailing from Chushul in Leh district of Ladakh succumbed to the virus in the hospital today taking Corona toll in the UT to 219 including 161 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Among 14 fresh cases, 10 were reported from Leh district and four in Kargil. Out of 193 active positive cases in Ladakh, Leh accounted for 141 and Kargil 52.
Corona count in Ladakh now stood at 22105. Of them, 21693 have recovered.
In Jammu region, 32 fresh COVID positive cases were today reported.
They include 20 in Jammu district, six in Doda, two each in Rajouri and Poonch and one each in Udhampur and Kathua districts.
Samba, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi districts didn’t report any cases today.
As against 32 cases, 29 persons recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 1,26,106 Coronavirus cases. Of them, 1,23,562 have recovered from the virus while there have been 2197 casualties and 347 active positive cases.
Casualties include 1156 in Jammu district, 239 Rajouri, 153 Kathua, 139 Udhampur, 136 Doda, 120 Samba, 100 Poonch, 67 Ramban, 44 Kishtwar and 43 in Reasi district.
Jammu district has maximum 244 active positive cases followed by 34 in Doda, 17 in Poonch, 16 Rajouri, 10 Udhampur, nine Kishtwar five each in Kathua and Ramban, four Reasi and three in Samba district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 59 fresh cases of COVID-19 while one infected person died.
With the fresh death, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,525.
Those who tested positive include 30 from Srinagar, 3 from Baramulla, 5 from Budgam, 3 from Pulwama, 4 from Kupwara, 5 from Bandipora and 9 from Ganderbal.
As per officials figures, 78,669 positive cases including 883 deaths and 77,342 recoveries are from Srinagar, 25,948 including 290 deaths and 25,501 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,476 including 24,208 recoveries and 216 deaths are from Budgam, 15,711 including 15,481 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,960 including 167 deaths and 14,725 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,731 including 16,504 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,169 cases including 10,008 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,989 including 10,795 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,547 including 11,420 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,618 including 5,557 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 214,818 including 211,541 recoveries and 2,328 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,296 including 949 from Kashmir division.
With 127 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 335,103 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
