LEH, Dec 21: As part of Losar celebrations, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) organized Tse-Tse (New Year’s Moon Watching Ceremony) at Chowkhang Vihara here this evening.
On the occasion, the chief guest was LBA President Tsewang Thinles, while LBA Executive Members and women representative were also present.
This was followed by lighting of traditional lamp. LBA women representative offered khataks to participants with a request to take part in the Tse-Tse ceremony followed by prayer offering ceremony by monks.
Representatives from Hemis-Shukpachan village who continued to practice and maintain Losar customs were specially invited to perform the Tse-Tse ceremony. Later, they came out of Chowkhang Vihara with various kind of offering to welcome the New Year’s first moon (Tse-Tse) amid reciting of prayers and dances.
Addressing the gathering, LBA President Tsewang Thinles stressed upon the need for staying united for the development of region and asserted that one should adopt the habit of helping nature to support the needy. He added that whatever one does for the society must be done with sincerely and honesty without carrying for others comment. He also expressed hope that coming years will be more happier, prosperous and harmonious society. He also prayed for the longevity, communal harmony, peace, prosperity, unity and development of Ladakhi society.
LBA Women Wing Executive members headed by President Rinchen Angmo, LAHDC Executive Councilor for Agriculture Tsering Wangdus, Councillor Sonam Chosphel, LBA Vice President PT Kunzang and Rinchen Namgyal, LBA General Secretary Sonam Dawa, Youth Acting President Konchok Stak, Anjuman Moin-Ul-Islam President Dr Abdul Qayoom, DCC President Tsering Samphel and BJP President Tsewang Gonbo were also present during the celebrations.
Earlier, LBA Youth Wing organized day long cultural programme to enthrall the spectators.
