Tribal folk artists mesmerize audiences by performance

JAMMU, Dec 27: On day 2 of the Tribal Folk-Dance Festival, artists from different parts of India showcased their talent at Abhinav Theatre.
Former Tourism Minister Priya Sethi and BJP senior leader Yudhvir Sethi were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Dancers from Haryana performed Ghumar. Team from Telengana also performed its Mathuri dance form. Those from Rajasthan performed Chakri dance. From Tripura, Liibangh dance form was performed while from Assam, Bihu dance was presented. Team Madhya Pradesh performed Norta, Maharashtra performed Koli and artists from Oddisa performed Dalkhai dance.
5-day Tribal Folk Festival was inaugurated at Abhinav Theatre on December 26 and folk artists from 11 States, UTs are showcasing their talent. North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt of India) and Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu are jointly organizing this ‘National Folk Dance Festival’. The festival is of five days and with performance for three days at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
Artists from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab are participating in the mega event. Jammu and Kashmir has a rich tribal tradition and artists need a platform to showcase their talent, said the guests.
