JAMMU, June 23: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has asked the Government to treat the Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) as domicile certificates to avoid unnecessary hassles to the residents of J&K besides seeking total withdrawal of the SRO- 202.
In a statement, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the J&K residents who are already having duly issued PRC certificates would have to be lined up again to get the domicile certificates, to be eligible for any job or other rights. He said that the Government can avoid this inconvenience and lot of hardships by a one line order, treating PRCs as domicile certificates. It would save lot of hardships and avoidable expenditure of poor citizens, he added.
Reacting to the partial modification of the most arbitrary, unjust and unreasonable as well as exploitative SRO 202, in fresh recruitments and in the recruitments already made, Sharma termed it partial success of the struggle of lakhs of youth and asked the Government to withdraw it totally and retrospectively.
JKPCC leader said that despite acknowledging that the SRO 202 brought in by the previous PDP-BJP Government in 2015 was totally unjust, unreasonable and arbitrary, apart from being exploitative of the rights of youth, Government has still kept it in modified form for the past as well as future recruits.
Seeking full and complete withdrawal of the SRO 202, JKPCC chief spokesperson said while future recruits may be free from the ill effects of cut in their salary, those already appointed from 2015 till date, have not been given benefit of the arrears of their deducted salary and would be entitled to only notional benefit of confirmation after two years, without any monetary benefits, which is again great Injustice.
