TN CM Vijay visits passport office ahead of UK visit next week

CHENNAI (Tamil Nadu), Sep 2 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Wednesday visited the Regional Passport Office on Anna Salai to complete formalities ahead of his proposed UK visit next week.

Vijay arrived at the passport office for mandatory procedures related to his diplomatic passport.

A large crowd of supporters and onlookers gathered outside the facility to catch a glimpse of the actor-turned-politician, prompting heavy police deployment to regulate traffic on the busy arterial road.

The chief minister is scheduled to undertake a four-day visit to the UK from September 10 to attract industrial investments to Tamil Nadu, sources said.

It will be his first major overseas visit since he assumed office as CM following the electoral victory of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

Official sources said he is expected to visit the UK to promote Tamil Nadu as a preferred investment destination, with the CM likely to meet industry representatives and potential investors during his stay. *PTI)
