Three killed, two injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Feb 5: Three persons were killed while two others were seriously injured in road accidents at different locations.
As per reports, three youths were seriously injured when the motorcycle (JK02AP-1430), they were riding on was hit by an unidentified truck at Badia, district Samba.
The injured were rushed to District Hospital Samba, where two youth were declared as brought dead.
One of the injured youth identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Baldev Raj of Jakh was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advance treatment.
A case has been registered at Samba police station and investigation started.
In another incident, a man was seriously injured when a bus bearing registration number JK02M-0179 hit him at Katra today.
The injured identified as 40-year-old Uttam Singh, son of Desa Singh of Katra was rushed to Sub-District Hospital, Katra and later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Katra police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian identified as Kikru Ram, son of Makholi Ram of Ramnagar was injured, when an unidentified vehicle hit him near Slathia Chowk, Dhar Road, district Udhampur.
He was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation started.
