UDHAMPUR, Aug 22: Udhampur Police has worked out two theft cases, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta and recovered stolen jewellery amounting to Rs 2, 51,835 /- from the six thieves, who had stolen these items from two different houses at Majalta.
The accused have been identified as Ayub Ahmed, son of Shamas Din of Goti Chandiyar, Bani, Shabir Ahmed son of Ghulam Qadir of Telli Basti, Bari-Brahmna, Samba, Sadam Hussain son of Abdul Rahim of Surjan Chalok Tehsil Bani and Darshan Kumar alias Pandit son of Chajju Ram of Chak Ram Singh Hatli Morh Kathua, who were involved in case under FIR number 41/2016 u/s 454/380/109/411/201 RPC P/S Majalta and another two accused namely Mohd Javed son of Mohd Gulzar of Bateda Tehsil Basohli and Talib Hussain son of Abdul Hamid of Lohai Tehsil Lohai Malhar Kathua, involved in case under FIR number 50/2016 u/s 454/380 RPC P/S Majalta.
One theft had taken place on July 22, 2016 in the residence of Uttam Chand son of Kundi Ram of Amara Tehsil Majala and another on June 23, 2016 in the residence of Ramesh Singh son of Rasal Singh of Dayoat Tehsil Majala. Gold and silver ornaments as well as cash were stolen.
To work out the cases, Police team conducted raids at various locations thereby arresting number of suspects. During the course of sustained questioning of the suspects, they broke down and confessed their involvement in the commission of crime.
Upon their disclosure, property worth Rs 2, 21,385/- in the form of gold and silver ornaments was recovered. Further investigation into the matter was going on and involvement of the accused persons in other theft cases is not ruled out.
