AKHNOOR, June 24: Police in Akhnoor Area claimed to have solved a theft case by recovering the stolen property items from the burglas.
A police spokesperson said that one Ankush Banotra son of Devi Diyal of Mundh Maira Mandrian lodged a written complaint with Police Station Akhnoor stating therein theft of some valuable items from his home, including a laptop, mobile phone and some other items.
On this, police registered a case FIR number 172/2023 under sections 457/380 of the IPC and started investigation.
During the course of investigation, the spokesperson said, special police teams of Police Station Akhnoor led by SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Lal, assisted by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, arrested the accused identified as Parveen Kumar of Mund, Maira Mandrian.
“On his (accused) disclosure, police have recovered the stolen items worth around Rs 65000 and taken up further investigations,” added the police spokesperson.
