UDHAMPUR, Mar 16: An unsuccessful attempt of theft was made in J&K Bank branch at Shakti Nagar in Udhampur town.
The matter came to light this morning when some locals noticed that a window on rear side of the bank branch was broken. They contacted some bank staff members, who immediately informed Udhampur Police Station about the matter.
On being informed, the Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Vijay Singh Choudhary, immediately reached their spot and did not allow anyone to go inside the bank till Forensic team started its work. It was found that thieves had tried their best to break the chest containing cash but they failed in their attempt.
The bank staff counted the cash in chest and after cross checking with the record, the same was found intact. The Udhampur Police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations besides apprehending some suspects for the questioning.
