RAJOURI, Mar 4: Thannamandi-Bufliaz road which is shortest route to connect with district Poonch from Thannamandi and adjoining areas is lying closed from the last three days due to massive landslides.
Reports said the road is closed from the last three days due to landslides at various places due to heavy rains. Due to closure of this road, the public is suffering badly and the patients have to travel long distance on foot to reach Thannamandi or GMC Rajouri.
A large number of Government employees also use this road to travel to Surankote and Poonch and it has become difficult for them to reach the destination well in time.
Due to the closure of this road, they have to travel to Poonch via Bhimber Gali which is a long route as compared to Dera Gali. Moreover, the road is not properly maintained by Dharam Raj Construction company. They failed to complete the road work within stipulated time period. The sufferings of the people of this area have increased manifold.
Locals appealed the District Administration, Rajouri to direct concerned to clear the road and make it feasible for movement of traffic.
