Terror accused Abu Faisal along with other SIMI operatives has been booked for allegedly raising inflammatory slogans against Narendra Modi while they were being taken back to jail from court here.
The incident took place yesterday when 15 alleged terrorists associated with Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) including Faisal were being taken towards a police truck in the district court premises after they were produced for physical verification in a case of spreading SIMI network and for keeping contacts with Indian Mujahideen module, police sources said.
Taking the matter seriously, police have registered a case against the SIMI operatives in the MP Nagar Police Station under sections 153B (Imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), 295A ( Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and 34 (common intention) of IPC in this regard, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Intelligence, Sarabjeet Singh said.
“They were just trying to get attention by raising these slogans. We have taken the matter seriously and will step up security measures in future whenver they will be produced in court,” the ADGP said.
