Temp rises amid forecast of rain, snow in Valley

SRINAGAR, Mar 7: The minimum temperatures increased in Kashmir Valley amid forecast for rain in plains and snowfall in upper reaches today.
A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 7.0 degree Celsius against 4.2 degree Celsius the previous night. The temperature was 3.3 degree Celsius above normal for this time of the year.
Qazigund recorded a low of 4.3 degree Celsius against 1.5 degree Celsius the previous night while the mercury settled at 3.2 degree Celsius at Pahalgam against minus 1.8 degree Celsius the previous night.
Kokernag recorded a low of 3.6 degree Celsius against 2.5 degree Celsius the previous night.
The minimum temperature settled at 5.2 degree Celsius in Kupwara against 0.1 degree Celsius the previous night.
Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.7 degree Celsius against minus 3.0 degree Celsius the previous night.
The MeT has forecasts widespread light to moderate rain, snow in Kashmir division and Pirpanjal Range of Jammu division with isolated light rain on plains of Jammu division.
The weatherman has also said that there is possibility of isolated very light rain and thundershowers.
In the meantime, there were isolated showers across Kashmir with hills experience light isolated snowfall.
