JAMMU, Nov 13: An urgent meeting of Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir was convened here today by the State general secretary Vijay Kumar Sharma for discussing burning issues of School Education Department, especially the pending release of salaries of the Teachers, Masters and Headmasters, working under the SSA and RMSA schemes.
The meeting was chaired by its State president Nasir Ahmed Qurashi and attended by the representatives from all districts of Jammu province and the members of central body of TGJK.
Detailed deliberations were held on various issues like mon-payment of salary to SSA/RMSA teachers, adjustment of Masters promoted under DPC 2014, filling up of vacant posts of Headmasters, Lecturers, Masters and teachers, Cash-in-lieu, Special allowance for teachers serving in rural areas, Pay from overall cadre for surplus teachers, masters and lecturers, revival of selection grade for teachers, exemption of teachers from non-teaching assignments and transfer policy for ReT Teachers.
Nasir Ahmed Qurashi expressed concern over the non-release of salary of SSA/RMSA teachers and said that the Government should find out a permanent solution of the problem. The SPD SSA/RMSA should provide utilization certificates well in time to MHRD and also achieve the riders and targets laid down by MHRD in PAB meetings, he added and hoped that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar, Minister of State Priya Sethi would take a review of the matter and solve the burning issue of pending salary of teachers.
Vijay Kumar Sharma said that it was unfortunate and un-lawful that the teachers working under SSA/RMSA have not been paid even on the important festivals like Diwali and Bhaiduj etc. He informed the participants that in most of the districts, the teachers are without salary for four to six months.
Others, who spoke in the meeting, included Narayan Baru, Mohd. Farooq Faraz Qurashi, Anil Bhardwaj, Kuldeep Raj, Vinod Kumar, Balbir Singh, Sanjay Kumar and Om Parkash.
