Talwara migrants take out protest march demanding implementation of SC order

REASI, Oct 31:   Hundreds of Talwara migrants residing in broken camps at Talwara marched through the  streets of Reasi  town today demanding implementation of  Supreme Court order on payment of all their ration, balance and facilities in accordance with the judgment of the Supreme Court of India in 2007 at par with the Kashmiri migrants.
The procession  was led by  NPP chairman  Harsh Dev Singh and State president  Balwant Singh Mankotia. NPP chief patron Prof Bhim Singh and others also joined the procession later and they moved to the office of Deputy Commissioner Reasi. The migrants were also escorted by chairman and president of the Migrants Action Committee namely  Balwan Singh and  Jagdev Singh.
The Deputy Commissioner, Reasi  Prasanna Ramaswamy gave  patient hearing and attended every intervener and finally assures that he shall take up the matter with the Govt and assured that justice shall be done to the suffering migrants.
A NPP leader said that Jammu migrant families according to J&K Govt were 2201 as the J&K had filed before the SC of India on a writ petition. The Supreme Court of India had directed the J&K Govt and the Union of India to provide relief to the Jammu migrants at par with the Kashmiris.
The Panthers Party has made a representation that Jammu migrants have not been provided even migrant Identity cards in 20 years nor they have given relief as per the direction of the Supreme Court. The NPP also complained that children of Jammu migrants have not been given any admission in professional colleges outside the State.  The party demanded full implementation of the Supreme Court judgment and sought all balance of relief (cash/ ration)  due to the Jammu migrants.
The Deputy Commissioner, Reasi assured that he shall take up the matter with the authorities at the earliest.
