JAMMU, Mar 15: GD Goenka Public School, Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust, organized an exhibition ‘Talented Goenkans’, here today.
Eminent Educationist and member of Police Women Welfare Association (PWWA) was the chief guest on the occasion, while Sanya Bansal, Director of the School was the guest of honour.
The dignitaries appreciated the effort of the students of class I and II.
The students exhibited their activities like a live demonstration on the Solar System and practical aspects of Air and Water.
The children spoke at length to parents about traffic rules and gave instructions in the well constructed Traffic Park. A Goenkan zoo was created where the children (who acted as animals) sang various rhymes with actions. A particular section of students enacted, a story about celebration of Holi. The mythological aspect of Holi was depicted by the students by conveying the moral of the fable of Prahalad and Hirna Kashyap.
The contribution of the English Department of the Junior School was in phonetic with appropriate pronunciations, working with words, sentence construction and dictionary usage. A separate section contributed various activities in Maths viz. addition, subtraction, multiplication, shapes, skip counting etc.
One of the class rooms was beautifully converted into the popular ‘Snakes and Ladder’ game for teaching addition and subtraction through an activity.
The entire concept of early civilization was displayed by the students. An Art and Craft, Phonetic and Computer Corner were also created to depict aesthetic and creative sense.
Principal of the School, Dr RP Singh presided over the function and appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers.
