JAMMU, Feb 21: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din inaugurated the three day long Bench-Press Powerlifting Championship last evening.
The Championship is being organized by J&K Sports Power lifting Association and the finals of the Championship would be played on February 23 followed by distribution of prizes.
Addressing the inaugural function, the Minister asked youth to take benefit of sports activities and take benefits of the upgradations of sports infrastructure in the State.
Mr. Taj said the Government has embarked on an ambitious plan of expanding and strengthening sports infrastructure in the State. In this regard, he said, sports complexes are being constructed at Block levels and every Panchayat would be having a sports field.
The Minister said sports infrastructure in the State is being further strengthened and more and more equipments are being added to provide improved facilities to youth.
