Taj discusses various issues with GMC faculty, admn

Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din interacting with GMC faculty and administration on Saturday.

JAMMU, Mar 2: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, today visited Government Medical College Jammu and took stock of implementation of directions he had passed regarding proper maintenance, cleanliness, quality treatments, services to patients, regulating attendants, modernization of equipment and other issues during his earlier visit.
The Minister was told that renovation of toilets and bathrooms in the hospital has been taken up and these would be maintained on optimal levels of cleanliness.
The Minister assured the faculty members that their demands would be met with at the earliest. He appealed them to treat the hospital as their own asset and help in enhancing its standard to quality levels. He said the hospital is being equipped with more staff and equipments to meet the patients rush. He directed reshuffling of the long staying staff at the hospital to instill fresh blood in its working. He also directed for effecting promotions and other incentives for faculty to enhance their interest and involvement in their services.
Taj asked the Medical Superintendent to ensure that entry and consumption of cigarettes and guttka is strictly banned in the hospital premises and no one is allowed to carry these items inside. He also directed regulating number of attendants accompanying a patient to the hospital to minimize rush within the hospital and allow patients and doctors a congenial atmosphere to administer the treatment.
The Minister also reviewed the progress on operationalization of Super Speciality Hospital Jammu with faculty and hospital administration. He sought details of the remaining works and installation of machinery being done at the hospital.
During the visit, Taj also inspected the space for vehicle parking in the hospital. He directed early completion of works at the site so that the parking problem at the hospital is addressed.
Principal, GMC, Dr. Aniece Choudhary, Medical Superinten-dent of     SMGS, GMC and Super Speciality Hospital and other officers were present on the occasion.
