JAMMU, Aug 30: Young paddler Syrah emerged as the star performer on the second day of the 3rd J&K UT Table Tennis Ranking Championship-2026, clinching double titles in the Under-11 and Under-13 Girls categories at the ongoing championship.
Organised by the J&K Table Tennis Association (JKTTA), the championship witnessed intense competition, with young players displaying impressive skills, determination and fighting spirit in their respective age groups.
In the Under-11 Boys final, Satvik produced a composed performance to defeat Anushthan by 3-0 and secure the championship title.
The Under-13 Boys title was clinched by Akshaj, who produced an impressive performance against a competitive field to finish at the top of the podium.
The Under-15 Boys quarterfinals also witnessed some closely contested encounters. Samar defeated Anirudh by 3-0, while Satvik overcame Advik by 3-2 in a hard-fought match. Eeshan registered a 3-0 victory over Anushthan, while Akshaj defeated Aahan by 3-0 to book their places in the next round.
In the Under-19 Boys quarterfinals, Ujjwal defeated Pranwat by 3-1, Pranit overcame Laksh Dev by 3-1, Hunny registered a 3-0 win over Samar, and Samarth defeated Viren 3-0.
The performances on the second day reflected the growing depth and quality of junior table tennis in Jammu and Kashmir. The championship is providing emerging paddlers with valuable competitive exposure besides an opportunity to earn ranking points and gain experience at the UT level. The matches were officiated by Arbaz, Gurvinder, Ankit and Meenu Rajesh.
