Summer cricket coaching camp concludes

JAMMU, June 28: A three-week-long Summer Cricket Coaching Camp for boys and girls in the 12-16 age group concluded at Parade Ground here today, with former Ranji Trophy player Randhir Singh Jamwal attending the valedictory function as the chief guest.

The seventh edition of the camp was organised by Parade Sports Association in collaboration with Laxmi Cricket Club to nurture budding cricketers. A total of 65 participants underwent intensive training covering batting, bowling, fielding, running between the wickets and physical fitness.

The camp was conducted under the guidance of Vijay Sabarwal and Dr Anil K. Mahajan, while Harsh Nayyar served as the chief organiser. Former Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy skipper Sanjay Sharma was the expert for the camp, with former Ranji player Rohit Bhat and senior cricketer Vikram Dogra serving as coach and trainer, respectively. Kapil Dev Mahajan, Pawan Kumar Gupta and Advocate Rajesh Jaitly were the organising secretaries, while Vikram Singh Bhadwal and Devender Sharma coordinated the arrangements.

Medical check-ups of all participants were conducted by senior Ayurvedic consultant Dr Anil Kumar Mahajan, who also provided health guidance. On International Yoga Day, Sharad Chander Mangotra and his team conducted yoga and meditation sessions.

Certificates, smart shirts, lowers and hats were distributed to all participants by the chief guest, who appreciated the organisers' efforts in grooming young cricketers. Pawan Kumar Gupta, the organizing secretary of the camp and Chairman of Laxmi Cricket Club presented the vote of thanks.
