JAMMU, Sept 28: Veteran artist Suman Gupta’s debut show titled “Hopes And Dreams”, which opened at Christine Frechard Gallery in Pittsburgh, USA, has been attracting a large number of people.
The show was opened publicly on 3rd September 2014 with number of artists, art connoisseurs and art collectors attending the opening party shown their keen interest in the artist works. The show is consisting of seventeen works including some acrylics, dry brush and temperas which the artist has created for the present series.
Suman Gupta’s works is unique, particularly his treatment of the local landscape with human figure and elements taken from nature. He catches nature in its all myriad forms, juxtaposing its beauty with man’s innermost niches of awareness -his self worth, self deeds and equations with time and life, manifested in works like “Deep river Valley, View from the Window, The story tellers, etc.
Yesterday, Christine Frechard gallery organized a special lecture of the artist for the selected number of intellectuals, connoisseurs and art enthusiasts. Christine Frechard, the gallery owner, introduced the artist to the audience and many of them had few questions for the artist about his work, influences and technique.
Suman Gupta spoke at length about his long passion and association with art, specially his subjects and painstaking technique which he has been following for the past few decades now. Suman Gupta is a self taught artist with a Degree in Law. He has participated in several eminent national and international art exhibitions and is recipient of many awards.
