JAMMU, Jan 15: MP Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana today urged local inhabitants of Jammu to work hard and intelligently achieve the common objective of peace, prosperity and development. He rued that the basic inhabitants of Jammu including Gujjar, Rajput, Brahman, OBCs, SC/STs have remained poor and backward due to wrong policies of the previous governments.
Addressing a massive public meeting organized by Shahid Choudhary at village Khairi-Raipur near here, today Gulam Ali Khatana said that during the regime of Maharaja Hari Singh and other Dogra Maharajas, Gujjars, Rajputs, Brahmins, Scheduled Castes, Tribals, OBCs were treated with respect and honour. But this changed with so called democratic parties coming to power. The locals were deprived of their rights, lands, job opportunity and business.
He said that those who remained in power snatched the land, jobs and business of the locals still locals trusted them and voted for them.
Khatana said that the need of the hour is to promote local entrepreneurs, businessmen and talent in other fields. He stressed the need for excellence in every field as native communities have suffered a lot during past regimes and have been relegated to backwardness and poverty.
Khatana said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has focused on serving the poorest among the poor and most backward among the backwards. He said that everyone who looks towards Narendra Modi as a role model follows the same model of serving the last man in the last row.
Ex-MP Shamsher Singh Manhas in his speech praised the qualities of head and heart of Gulam Ali Khatana and said that they both have worked together.
Prominent among others who honoured Gulam Ali included Ex-MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, Sarpanch, Devinder Singh Manhas, Ex-Yuva Rajput Sabha and BJP leader, Surinder Singh Gilli and Sunil Sharma.,
On this occasion hundreds of youth and prominent citizens led by Shahid Choudhary joined BJP and showed their full trust in the leadership and policies of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Surinder Singh Gilli presented the welcome address and Lal Hussain Lodha managed the stage.
