UDHAMPUR, Dec 6: Student of Government Higher Secondary School Ramnagar today protested against irregular supply of electricity in Basantgarh and Ramnagar.
The protesting students raised slogans against the Power Development Department and urged the Governor’s administration to issue necessary instructions for regular power supply in their area.
Some locals of Ramnagar also joined the protesting students and alleged that the PDD was enforcing heavy curtailment with the result that people were facing problems. They said that the matter was brought into the notice of concerned authorities several times but nothing positive was done in this regard.
Due to heavy curtailment, people of these areas in general and students in particularly are suffering. “We are not even able to do our home work because of non availability of light in the evening hours,” the students said.
