JAMMU, May 2: Police in Jammu’s Bakshi Nagar area here claimed they have recovered the stolen gold worth Rs 1.5 crore within 48 hours.
A police official said that on the intervening night of April 29-30, unidentified thieves barged into a residential house in Bakshi Nagar and decamped with gold items worth Rs 1.5 crore.
On this, he said, an FIR under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and a team of police officers was constituted to probe into the incident.
Acting on specific information, the police team, with the help of FSL team and sniffer dogs, recovered the stolen gold from a nearby area, he said.
Meanwhile, further investigation is underway to arrest the accused.
