JAMMU, Feb 6: A rich presentation of the State’s diverse culture was made by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages at the Zorawar Auditorium here last evening on the sidelines of the 101- Indian Science Congress.
The variety programme representing three regions of Jammu & Kashmir was presented to the delight and huge appreciation of the audience comprising about six thousand viewers including delegates from different countries besides several States of India.
The artists came from Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh. The show was anchored by Mitali and choreographed by Randhir Singh.
The song and dance sequences included Dhambali, Rouf and folk song from Kashmir, Kud, Morni and Paranada from Jammu and Jabroo and Flower Dance from Ladakh. A fusion song ‘Guldasta’ by the artists from the three regions was performed as the concluding song and dance    item.
It was a rare occasion to showcase the rich and diverse culture of Jammu & Kashmir before a large audience that had mainly come from outside the State. On their part, the audience applauded every performance and had experience of knowing firsthand about the local culture.
