State youth being dragged towards drug addiction: Vakil

RAFIABAD, June 7: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today expressed concern over neglect of youth by the Govt  and maintained that they are being dragged towards drug addiction.
Addressing public meeting at Hadipora in Rafiabad today Mr Vakil said that due to the wrong policies in respect of proper engagement of youth and least employment avenues are forcing youth towards drug addiction. Unemployed educated youth are today facing a life threatening situation as they have become soft targets for exploiters who have always put in place their nefarious designs to ensure that peace, prosperity and development of the State gets derailed.
Former Minister said that if Government fails to recognize the present alarming scenario, the days are not too, far when situation in the State will turn ugly and beyond control. He impressed upon the Government to launch without any delay comprehensive employment package so that energy of the youth could be channelized in the right direction.
Vakil further said that youth are hope and future of this State and they deserve a better treatment so that growing alienation could be tackled well in time. He said that Government needs to dedicate itself for betterment of educated youth so that their exploitation at the hands of extremists is dealt and prevented. He also urged the Government to plug all the routes which are used by drug peddlers and take stern action against those found involved in drug trafficking.
Former Minister stressed upon the youth to be vigilant of those forces who had been all along exploiting them for grabbing power by raising slogans like autonomy and Self-rule but when they grab the power they forget these promises. He said time has come that the youth must give befitting reply to these parties who not only exploit them but never think of making such a planning which can provide livelihood to the unemployed youth.
