State level Women Cricket C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, Apr 13: State level Women Cricket Championship, organized by 5th Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles, concluded at Madri Meharban Cricket Stadium Ganderbal, today.
The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion organised the tournament under the aegis of 3-Sector RR, wherein eight teams from all parts of Kashmir valley participated which was played on a knockout basis.
The final match was played between Shugul Srinagar and DWCA Budgam teams.
Batting first, Budgam team scored 101 runs for the loss of eight wickets, whereas Shugul Srinagar easily chased the target and won the match by nine wickets.
The winning team (Shugul Srinagar) was awarded with Rs one lakh prize money, whereas DWCA Budgam received Rs 50,000 prize money Kausar Meer of Budgam was declared as woman of the series.
The chief guest of the event appreciated the young players for delivering such a fantastic performance for not only to showcase their talents but also to imbibe some of the most important life lessons through the medium of sports. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for conducting the event.
