LEH, Oct 11: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tsering Gyalpo flagged-off road awareness campaigner bikers from Cultural Academy Complex here.
This was the 9th grand bikers rally organized by the Apex Adventure for the road safety awareness.
About 40 local youth bikers set on a mission to spread ‘Road Safety’ message travelling from Leh to Suru valley in Kargil District to educate the public.
SSP Gyalpo expressed concern over increasing road accident and added that such awareness would help to reduce the road rage. He also expressed his hope that in years to come such awareness would become more popular not only in Ladakh region but also at national level setting example for other to follow road safety measure.
Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Arts, Culture and Language (JKAACL) Special Officer Tsewang Paljor while mentioning about successful conduct of such road awareness campaign for the 9th consecutive years said that such rally would certainly help to reduce the road rage. He added that during the rally the bikers will distribute road safety pamphlets and hold interaction with public to spread message about the importance of road safety measures.
Mentioning about the purpose of rally, Apex Adventure Director Rinchen Angdu informed about four prizes comprising of cash and trophies for the all rounder, best camp layout, best rider etc will be awarded at the end of tour.
