JAMMU, Feb 23: Govt. SPMR College of Commerce lifted the men’s trophy, while GCW Gandhi Nagar clinched the women’s trophy of the inter-collegiate Gatka tournament, organized by Cluster University of Jammu at GGM Science College, here today.
Dr. Manmeet Singh, chairman Gatka Association J&K was the chief guest and Ravinder Singh, president Gatka Association J&K was the guest of honor on the occasion.
The tournament was organized under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi Sports Coordinator, CLUJ and Physical Director GGM Science College Jammu.
In the men’s section the final match was played between Govt. SPMR College of Commerce and GGM Science College. After a very tough fight Govt. SPMR College of Commerce beat GGM Science College in extra time, while in the women’s section GCW Gandhi Nagar defeated Govt. MAM College and lifted the trophy.
Aijaz Malik, Physical Director Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Neelam Chalotra, Assistant Physical Director Govt. MAM College Jammu and Neelam were among the various dignitaries present during the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Amarjeet Singh, Simrandeep Kour, Sharleen Kour, Varundeep Singh, Jasvinder Singh, Harpreet Singh and Ravinder Singh.
