Speaker takes stock of people’s grievances

JAMMU, Sept 4: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today visited Channi and Digiana to take stock of the people’s grievances.
While addressing a public meeting at Channi, Speaker reiterated the commitment of the Government to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State.
During the visit people of the area put forth various issues and demands before the Speaker which include installation of street lights, proper sanitation, improved water and power supply etc.
Highlighting the various achievements of the Government, Gupta said that various road projects amounting to Rs 4.58 crore are under execution in the area which includes black topping, repair and widening of internal and main roads of Channi Himmat and Channi Rama.
He also said that work on three tube wells is under progress which after completion will definitely augment water supply in the area.
He assured the people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in a phased manner. He announced to provide Rs. 10 lakh for construction and upgradation of lanes and drains in Digiana.
