JAMMU, Apr 9: Former PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has sought an end to the ongoing controversy over composite township for Kashmiri Pandits in Valley.
“Now that the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Sahib has declared that it is an inclusive situation and Kashmiri Pandits and members of other communities will live together in the proposed townships in Kashmir, controversy on the issue must end,” he said in a statement, issued here today .
Emphasizing that Kashmiri Pandits have a common history and heritage with the Kashmiri Muslims, spanning over 5000 years, Prof Soz  said that those  Pandits, who had left the Valley during the period of turmoil, must be wholeheartedly welcomed back to their home and hearth. “I hope that the opinion leaders in Pandit community would do well to open a dialogue within the community and reiterate that the KPs  must return to Kashmir, not only to live honourably and securely, but  also with a feeling to share a common heritage with Kashmiri Muslims,” he opined.
