JAMMU, Apr 23: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today awarded life imprisonment to Mukhtiar Ahmed for killing his father Nazir Ahmed in an area under the jurisdiction of Nagrota Police Station on August 19, 2010.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Rakesh Badyal for the State, the court awarded rigorous imprisonment for life to the accused and imposed fine of Rs 50,000 for the commission of offence punishable under Section 302 RPC. In default of payment of fine, accused-convict shall undergo further imprisonment of the like nature for a period of one year.
He was also sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 1000 for the commission of offence punishable under Section 323 RPC and in default of payment of fine, accused-convict shall undergo further imprisonment of the like nature for a period of two months.
He was further sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 07 years and to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for the commission of offence punishable under Section 325 RPC and in default of payment of fine, accused-convict shall undergo further imprisonment of the like nature for a period of three months. He was also awarded rigorous imprisonment for 10 years for the commission of offence punishable under Section 326 RPC, rigorous imprisonment for 3 three years for the commission of offence punishable under Section 201 RPC.
All the substantive sentences of the imprisonment shall run concurrently, the court clarified.
