JAMMU: An Army jawan got critically injured, when he was hit by a sniper shot fired from across the Line of Control (LOC) by the Pakistani Army in Poonch district, police sources here said.
They said a sniper shot fired from Pakistani Post hit the abdomen of soldier Lance Naik Bhupinder Singh of 22 Sikh Li, when he was on duty at a forward post. “He was rushed to the hospital, from where he was referred to the Command Hospital, Udhampur”, sources added.
Earlier in yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistan targeted the forward posts on the Line of Control in Poonch district.
”Pakistan fired unprovokingly along the LOC in forward areas of Hamirpur Battalion in Balakot Sector late last night from 1905 hrs to 2010 hrs,” Defence Spokesman here said.
There are unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army, wherein forward posts were targetted as Pakistan fired automatics and heavy machine gun fire. ”Our troops appropriately retaliated,” the spokesman added. (AGENCIES)
