DODA, May 13: Police arrested a snatcher within 24 hours and recovered stolen cash vis other items from his possession.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by a man namely Krishan Chand, son of Prem Nath of Shaie Arnora with Police Station Doda stating that one unknown person snatched his purse containing pension of Rs 20,000 and some other material near passenger shed at bus stand.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 86/2022 under Section 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Doda led by PSI Ankush Nagra under the supervision of SHO Doda Inspector Arun Sharma and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom with the help of CCTV cameras footages, technical and other evidences finally nabbed the snatcher, who was identified as Ram Saroop, son of Shadi Lal of Ugad District Doda.
On his disclosure, the snatched amount and other materials were recovered within 24 hours.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
