SMVDU holds session on Kriya Yoga

KATRA, Sept 5: A special session on ‘Kriya Yoga for a Peaceful, Happy and Tension-Free Life’ was organized by School of Philosophy and Culture, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), here.
H H Swami Nityananda Giri Ji, a renowned ascetic of the Yogoda Satsang Society (YSS), was the recourse person who introduced the participants about the importance of Kriya Yoga.
Swamiji emphasized upon the difference between scientific and spiritual knowledge by wonderfully pointing out the varied nature of the two fields of human learning.
He spoke at length on Science and Spirituality and also highlighted the importance of happiness in individual’s life.
Prof S K Jain, Vice Chancellor also graced the occasion by attending the session.
The session began with introduction of YSS by Shubham Tiwari and the welcome speech by Dr V K Tripathi, Director In-charge, School of Philosophy and Culture. Prof Rajani Kant, Professor of Physics, University of Jammu, introduced Swamiji to the participants.
Around four hundred students, faculty, staff members and the family members participated in the event.
Swamiji introduced specific techniques of Kriya Yoga after delivering lectures.
Dr Yugal Khajuria, Dean of Students, Anuj Mahajan, R K Datta, Khajuria and a number of YSS members also attended the session.
At the end of session, Prof S K Jain, the Vice Chancellor presented a token of gratitude to Swamiji and the session concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr V K Tripathi.
