SMVDU conducts Hands-on training workshop

KATRA, Apr 10: Central Mass Array Facility (CMAF) at School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) conducted a Hands-on Training in Central Mass Array system.
CMAF is a state-of-the-art facility, which has great importance and wide applications in various areas of biological research, whether it is the area of Pathogen Diagnostics, Human Genetics, Cancer Biology, Microbial Detection, Clinical Applications, Agro-Genomics etc.
This system has proven records of applications worldwide. The facility at SMVDU currently has four major research projects from various funding agencies, including a research grant from National Geographic Society USA.
The workshop was conducted by experts from Agena Biosciences USA, Dr Paras Yadav and Yogesh Pandey in association with Dr Sawarkar Sharma, AP SBT.
The aim of the workshop was to expose various researchers to the applications of the system in various niches of biotechnology and enable them to exploit the system in their research work for greater impact and better research.
In addition, Dr Paras made a few presentations and provided updates on upcoming technologies in life Sciences like Affymetrix Next Generation Microarray System, PacBio RS II Next Generation Sequencer and NanoString Technologies, USA.
