SMVDU Air Wing NCC cadets attend annual training camp

UDHAMPUR, July 8: Air Wing NCC cadets of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) participated in the Annual Training Camp (ATC) at Zorawar Training Academy, Udhampur, where they underwent intensive military and aviation training aimed at enhancing discipline, leadership, teamwork and physical fitness.

The camp began each day with rigorous morning physical training (PT) sessions, followed by competitive games that promoted team spirit and camaraderie among the cadets. They also received extensive drill training, firing practice and skeet shooting practice to strengthen their military skills and confidence.

As part of the aviation module, the cadets were provided hands-on exposure to flight simulator training and experienced microlight aircraft flying. They also attended classes on key military and aviation subjects, gaining insights into the functioning of the armed forces and air operations.

The camp featured a series of expert guest lectures on cybercrime awareness, career opportunities in the Indian Air Force, and field health and hygiene, contributing to the overall personality development of the cadets.

Congratulating the participants, Lieutenant (Dr) Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator, SMVDU and Dr Yati Aggarwal, In-charge, Air Wing NCC, said the Annual Training Camp offered an ideal platform for cadets to improve their military skills, leadership qualities, discipline and overall personality through structured training and practical exposure.

Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, and Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar, SMVDU, appreciated the cadets for representing the University with dedication and enthusiasm. They said participation in such camps broadens students’ horizons, instills the values of discipline and teamwork, and prepares them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
