SMC Suspends Junior Building Inspector Following Arrest By Anti-Corruption Bureau

SRINAGAR, Aug 21: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has placed Junior Building Inspector Gazala Akhter under suspension following her arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on August 20 in connection with a corruption case filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to an official order issued by the SMC Commissioner, Akhter—who was posted in Ward No. 28—stands deemed suspended from the date of her arrest and will remain attached to the office of the Joint Commissioner (Sanitation).

She will be entitled to a 50% subsistence allowance during the suspension period in accordance with standard civil service rules.
