Slathia lays foundation stone of model village at Gurah Slathian

SAMBA, June 29: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia today laid foundation stone of model village at Gurah Slathian which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs.101.85 lakh.
The project, being implemented by Rural Development Department, includes construction of roads, community facility centre, anganwari centres, RIC, construction of lanes and drains, community sanitary complex, play ground, etc.
Addressing the gathering after laying of foundation,  Slathia   said that the Omar led Coalition Government was committed to provide better basic amenities to the people of the remote as well as urban areas.
The MLA asked the villagers to identify the land for the    Community Facility Centre (CFC) to be constructed under the Model Village Project.
Responding to the demands of the people, Slathia assured them that the pending works like construction of lanes and drains, construction of toilets, old age pension cases will be taken up at the earliest.
Earlier, Slathia inaugurated the upgraded  33/11 KV Receiving Station at Gurah Slathian  completed at an estimated cost of Rs 32 lakh.
The Receiving Station has been upgraded from  3.15 MVA to 6.3 MVA to improve the power scenario  in Utterbehni, Gurah Slathian, Badwal and adjoining areas meeting the long pending demand of the people.
Addressing the public gathering, Slathia said that the Coalition Government has ensured equitable development of all the regions of the State, adding that the main attention has been given by the Government for up-gradation of the basic facilities and better infrastructure to improve education, PHE and power supply, healthcare services for the benefit of the people of remote and far flung areas.
Slathia cautioned the people against divisive forces and urged them to work for cementing the bonds of brotherhood between various communities.
“The people should be cautious about the mechanization of the opposition who are dividing the people on communal lines to gain political mileage”, he said. He gave a detailed account of the development projects and welfare schemes launched by the Omar led Coalition Government in the State. He said that the opposition was un-nerved with growing popularity graph of the present Coalition Government.
Among others Addl. District Development Commissioner, Samba Inderjeet Bhagat, ACD, Samba Pardeep Singh Manhas, District Panchayat Officer, Samba Sonu Pargal, XEn STD-II, Shiv Dev Singh, XEn REW Ch. Ghulam Rasool were also present on the occasion.
